John Glunt

Senior Strategic Advisor

John Glunt, PE, serves as Senior Strategic Advisor to Blackmore and Glunt, a role he assumed in 2026 after nearly three decades leading the company. He is the second generation of Glunts at the firm.

He joined the firm in 1976 as an outside salesperson and has worked out of both the St. Louis and Kansas City offices. John served as President from 1999 to 2019 and as Chief Executive Officer from 2019 to 2026. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Kansas.

John’s service to the industry spans four decades. He has served on ASHRAE Technical Committee 6.1, Steam and Hydronic Systems, since 1983, chaired the committee from 1990 to 1992, and currently chairs its Handbook Subcommittee. He served three terms as President of the Fluid Handling Representatives Association, in 1994–1995, 2005–2006, and 2014–2015. In 1998 he and his father, Gordon Glunt, were awarded a patent for the Flange Adapter, a cast, short-length concentric reducer that is drilled and tapped.
